Today the reading is from Luke chapter 8. The disciples continued learning from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ how to live as the citizens of the Kingdom of God, living by faith and not by sight, overcoming the natural by the supernatural authority and power of God given to Jesus while He was on earth, and which He in turn gave to His disciples. The same power (even to overcome death) has been given to those who believe. (Mark 16:17-18, 20)
Hebrews 2:14-15 (NLT) “14 Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.”

Luke 8:1-2 (ESV)
8 Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
Luke 8:11 (NLT)
Luke 8:15 (EXB)
15 And the seed that fell on the good ground is like those who hear ·God’s teaching [the word] with good, honest hearts and ·obey [cling/hold to] it and ·patiently [with perseverance] produce good fruit.
(Has the Gospel message burst forth its life and spirit in you who hear?)
Luke 8:18 (AMP)
18 Be careful therefore how you listen. For to him who has [spiritual knowledge] will more be given; and from him who does not have [spiritual knowledge], even what he thinks and guesses and supposes that he has will be taken away.
(Be careful how you hear! It makes the difference between health and sickness, freedom and bondage to sins, eternal life and eternal death.)
Luke 8:21 (EXB)
(Relationship with Jesus counts. Only those who hear His word and obey to do them are related to Him.)
Luke 8:25 (AMP)
25 And He said to them, [Why are you so fearful?] Where is your faith (your trust, your confidence in Me—in My veracity and My integrity)? And they were seized with alarm and profound and reverent dread, and they marveled, saying to one another, Who then is this, that He commands even wind and sea, and they obey Him?
(Where do you put your faith? In whom do you put your faith? Being Christians mean having a supernatural perspective in life. Faith in Jesus means believing in the supernatural.)
Luke 8:37 (AMP)Then all the people of the country surrounding the Gerasenes’ district asked [Jesus] to depart from them, for they were possessed and suffering with dread and terror; so He entered a boat and returned [to the west side of the Sea of Galilee].
(Fear of the supernatural means unbelief. Unbelief cripples and enslave.)
Luke 8:43 (NKJV)
Luke 8:45-46 (NLT)
Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”
Luke 8:48 (NKJV)
(Healing from Jesus manifests the power of God. God’s healing power is limitless and perfect. It is free! You only need to have faith. Faith is free. The faith that God has given to you is “like precious faith” with the apostles. 2 Peter 1:2)
Luke 8:49-50 (AMP)
Luke 8:51-52 (NKJV)
51 When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. 52 Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.”
Luke 8:53-56 (NLT)
53 But the crowd laughed at him because they all knew she had died. 54 Then Jesus took her by the hand and said in a loud voice, “My child, get up!” 55 And at that moment her life returned, and she immediately stood up! Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were overwhelmed, but Jesus insisted that they not tell anyone what had happened.
(Faith in Jesus even overcomes death. Faith means: belief in Jesus and ignore all else. The majority knew only the natural realm and were saying words contradictory to faith. Just keep on believing in what Jesus has said and ignore the rest. Note Jesus only allowed three closest disciples and the parents of the girl to accompany Him into her room. Negative reports and remarks and unbelief are cast out and kept out.)
Overall: continue to walk by the Spirit, trusting in what Jesus said, seeing the unseen (spiritual and supernatural) and not the seen. Miracles are made of the impossibles!
