SEVEN EVIL SPIRITS IN MAN

Christians are promised MORE ABUNDANT LIFE by Jesus in John 10:10.

But many are not living abundant life in the promised land, many are sick and weak and are in constant defeat in many aspects of lives, confronted with enemies who come in to steal, kill and destroy, why?

God actually commanded the Israelite (Deuteronomy 7:1-2) to conquer and destroy seven nations before they could take over the promised land. Who are they and what they stand for? Today Christians are confronting the same seven nations (seven evil spirits together called “self-spirit”) in us. Here they are and each should do his own reality check and seek healing and deliverance where they exist!

  1. Hittites -dealing with fear
  2. Amorites -taming the tongue
  3. Canaanites -trading
  4. Hivites -the world, delusion of delight
  5. Perizzites -the need for protection
  6. Girgashites -the danger of backsliding
  7. Jebusites -coping with condemnation
Spirit name Meaning of name Abbreviated explanation of evil effects on us
Hittites Sons of terror Subliminal torments, phobias, terror, depression, deceit
Girgashites Clay dwellers Focus on earthliness, unbelief in what cannot be seen
Amorites Mountain people, renown Obsession with earthly fame and glory, domineering
Canaanites Lowlands people Additions, perversions, exaggerated people-pleasing
Perizzites Belonging to a village Limited vision, laziness, low self esteem
Hivites Villagers Vision limited to enjoying an earthly inheritance, hedonism
Jebusites Threshers Suppression of spiritual authority in fellow believers, legalism

What did Jesus say about being not of this world? How to be free from these world demons?

John 8:23 He said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.

36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.”

John 17:15-17 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

The danger of having no word of God in us is illustrated here: Matthew 12:43-45“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”

THE KEY WORD IS CONSTANT FEEDING ON THE WORD OF GOD. KEEP HIS WORD. ABIDE IN HIS WORD. KNOW HIS TRUTH. CARRY OUT HIS TRUTH. (Joshua 1:8)
