Dear Father in heaven, I pray that Your church in the __________city, will heed your call as in the letter of Paul to the Corinthians. You have made them holy by means of Christ Jesus and they belong to Jesus now. I pray they appreciate the grace and peace that You have given them. I thank You for the gracious gifts You have given them. I pray they know they can be kept strong to the end, free from all blame, on the day when Your Son Jesus Christ returns. because You are faithful to do what You say. I pray they know You have invited them to partnership with Your Son Jesus Christ. I pray they respond according to Your divine calling.
I pray that they live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose, preaching the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power, for the message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of You, our God. Yes, to those called by You to salvation, regardless their background or race, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God, and no one can ever boast in Your presence, O God.
Father, please let them remember that You have united them with Christ Jesus, that for their benefit You made Your Son to be wisdom itself, that He had made them right with You, that He had made them pure and holy, and that He had freed them from sin.
So I pray that this church stay united with Christ Jesus, continue to walk in divine love, walking according to the Spirit of Christ, staying in Him, living in His power, manifesting His fruits! Only then they may live their destiny which You have set before them, as a church in their city. Thank You for hearing Your child’s prayer.
In the precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Your child pray. Amen.
(based on 1 Corinthians chapter one – NLT)
____________Note to the city church:
Remember Paul’s warning to the church in Ephesus and all who read his letters in the New Testament, Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
