New Covenant born again Christians are kings and priests

New Covenant born again Christians are royal priests, and are made kings and priests before God. What are their royal duties as far as God is concerned? (My notes are in brackets. Highlights of verses are added. ) Reading the Old Testament histories help us to see how a leader ought to function before God and before man. This is crucial for end days church.

Revelation 1:6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 5:10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Here is the Bible guide for king:______Deuteronomy 17:14-20 New Living Translation (NLT)

 Guidelines for a King

14 “You are about to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you. When you take it over and settle there, you may think, ‘We should select a king to rule over us like the other nations around us.’ 15 If this happens, be sure to select as king the man the Lord your God chooses. You must appoint a fellow Israelite; he may not be a foreigner.

(Note: only born again believers of Jesus can be kings and priests, serving God and serving the people of God.)

16 “The king must not build up a large stable of horses for himself or send his people to Egypt to buy horses, for the Lord has told you, ‘You must never return to Egypt.’ 17 The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will turn his heart away from the Lord. And he must not accumulate large amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself.

(Note: These are taboos for Christian leaders: accumulation of power, worldliness, and indulgence in the flesh -women and wealth!)

18 “When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. 19 He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. 20 This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

(Note: these are what he must do: copy for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.  And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes. The leader is required to fear God and respect and honor God’s words. Daily regular reading and acting upon God’s words will keep him well within God’s plumbline boundary. The only qualification for a king is therefore to be well versed with God’s words, living a god fearing life as a role model for the rest of the congregation. )

Application for watchman: copy the Bible verses as directed by the Holy Spirit. Indeed he was led to copy Bible since he was born again by the Holy Spirit. Lately he was woken in the early hours with the urgency in his spirit to copy the Bible verses…God’s word has power to give life. God’s word is light. God’s word is better than pure gold. God’s word is Jesus. What more does he need?
