Isaiah 23: God talks about shipping business future

Today the watchman sees an economic future. What is God saying about the shipping business? Is any nation exempted from the global impact when the shipping business becomes crippled? The ocean is relatively free and borderless today. When the sky is too risky and expensive to fly (as we have observed during recent events this year), we go back to the ocean. When the ocean is hit, what transport shall we rely on? What will the global economy look like? This is what we have not learned in our economic textbooks.

Points to ponder and meditate upon:

  1. God has spoken and it will happen on an appointed date.
  2. Can I (and or my family) live on without anything or amenities I am now accustomed to depend on for my (our) daily living?
  3. Are we fully prepared for that day ? (‘end days’)
  4. What is God saying to me personally?

Isaiah 23 English Standard Version (ESV) An Oracle Concerning Tyre and Sidon

1 The oracle concerning Tyre.

Wail, O ships of Tarshish,
    for Tyre is laid waste, without house or harbor!
From the land of Cyprus[a]
    it is revealed to them.
Be still, O inhabitants of the coast;
    the merchants of Sidon, who cross the sea, have filled you.
And on many waters
your revenue was the grain of Shihor,
    the harvest of the Nile;
    you were the merchant of the nations.
Be ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea has spoken,
    the stronghold of the sea, saying:,,,
The Lord of hosts has purposed it,
    to defile the pompous pride of all glory,[c]
    to dishonor all the honored of the earth.
10 Cross over your land like the Nile,
    O daughter of Tarshish;
    there is no restraint anymore.
11 He has stretched out his hand over the sea;
    he has shaken the kingdoms;
the Lord has given command concerning Canaan
    to destroy its strongholds...
