Isaiah 35: God heals the desolate

The vision prophet Isaiah saw continues to be filled with the goodness of God. In previous chapters he describes inhabited land become desolate wilderness. Only the wildlife could continue to survive because of God’s generous provision for them.
In today’s chapter we read of the hope that God has given to those who trust Him.
This chapter is full of joy and words of encouragement for the redeemed and ransomed of the Lord follows:
They shall see the glory and excellence of God.
Wilderness, wasteland and desert shall blossom richly.
Healing will take place for physical and mental infirmities and illnesses:
The weak, feeble, fearful, blind, deaf, lame, and the dumb, all will be healed when they see the glory of the Lord. No more depression, sorrow and sighing.
The nature will be healed and rejoice in praises to God: in beautiful and bountiful blooms, streams of living water, grass with reeds and rushes
Spiritual healing for the redeemed people of God: totally cleansed, no longer demonized.
A total protection and security from the Almighty God: a precondition and a promise. These have come true though our belief and life in Jesus Christ.
(This is also promised in Psalm 91:9-10 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;)
~~~~~~~~today’s verses: Isaiah 35 (NKJV)
The Future Glory of Zion
35 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice,
Even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it,
The excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the Lord,
The excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
“Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool,
And the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
  1. Wow! This is like me with my depression. Once I started to accept my situation fully and embraced the suffering (with help from God and doctors obviously) I was granted physical healing. This post spoke to me. It really did. Can I reblog this? Everyone on Facebook would love to see this I’m sure of it.
