What are God’s children like?

Today we take a break from prophet Isaiah. We read more about God our Father and learn from Jesus our eldest Brother.
We read what Jesus has spoken and taught His disciples in Luke 6:35-38 to see one important aspect of God that we hardly know before.
God has chosen to give His love to all who want.
God’s love is not petty and selfish like human love.
God is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.
God expects His children to be like Him:
1. Do good to the undeserving.
2. Do good without expecting to be repaid by human.
3. Always be kind and merciful and compassionate.
4. Love the love of God.
5. Love never fails.
Jesus goes further to explain this point.
As God’s children we do not fall into the snare of judging and condemning others.
The Bible describes a notorious accuser of Christians -Satan. (Revelation 12:10)
In the vision of Zechariah, he saw the Accuser, Satan, making accusations against the high priest Jeshua. (Zechariah3:1-2)
During the time when Jesus walked on earth the religious hypocrites were also quick to find ‘faults’ in Jesus and the followers of Jesus, based on the Jewish religious tradition.
Jesus warns of the evil spiritual consequences of God’s children judging and condemning others: it opens a door for the accuser to accuse you too!
Jesus promises those who bless others: you will open a door to receive blessings for yourself too.
Who will be judging then? At the appointed time,
God will send Jesus to judge and condemn the wicked and evil. It’s already recorded in God’s book. (The Book of Revelation.)
What kind of love God expects His children to practice?
1 Corinthians 13:4-7New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails.
What Jesus has taught about God’s children
Luke 6:35-40 New King James Version (NKJV)
35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
