How could a handful of enemies intimidate and make a whole nation tremble and live in constant fear? Today I ask this question and find the answer in today’s Bible reading, Deuteronomy 32 (which I shall quote in parts with highlights in bold.) I share below what I had received based on what Jesus and the Holy Spirit (through Jesus’ disciples) have said.
KEY ISSUE: The nation which has been brought down to its knees has no wise counsel on the matters of God. They do not understand spiritual reality and many do not want to know. But God is Spirit. Jesus has said. There is no option for Christians not to know God in the spirit and know His spiritual reality and the spiritual realm. There is no option for Christians not to read the Bible as led by the Holy Spirit and understand in spirit the truth in God’s words, which are spirit and life. (John 4:23-24; 6:63; 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2:4-5, 2:10-16; Romans 8:1, 9-16) Knowing God (who is Spirit) in the spirit (Ephesians 1:17-23), being joined to the Lord in the spirit-one spirit with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17), being able to hear God and follow His lead even in terms of strategies for the future. Because we have the Holy Spirit in us who knows all things before hand and can tell us and we can hear Him. (John 16:13-15; Romans 8:14; 1 Corinthians 2:11-16; 1 John 2:27)
This is the major weakness of many nations and policy makers and administrations which continue to insist on focusing on making strategies based on building up of hardwares and not softwares, which in this case must be spiritual to be effective against unseen enemies who walk by stealth. It is obvious that the handful of enemies are backed by spiritual belief and spiritual reality in their personal and corporate lives. When I received this point, I was led to recall how a pagan king sacrificed his eldest son (heir to his throne) to appease his god and as a result, Israel’s armies had to back off even though they were initially winning the battles. (2 Kings 3:27). This is happening in our modern world. A handful sacrificed to their god in the spiritual realm and put fear to a whole nation of secular minded or unspiritual-minded souls.
Serious Bible believers know this truth. Why did Jesus shed His blood? What happened when He shed His blood on the cross? Something changed in the spiritual realm. The whole human race was affected. The Holy Spirit gave us this assurance: He (the Holy Spirit) in us is greater than he (the devil/other spirit) who is out there intimidating God’s people (and the whole human race). The Son of God (Jesus) manifested was to destroy the work of the devil. (1 John 3:8; 4:4; 5:4) But the above mentioned key weakness of a general stupor and error in the spirit must be addressed by God’s people. Be spiritual. Be mindful of the unseen. Be in Christ.Train ourselves to listen to the Holy Spirit and (be like King David) know exactly when and how God’s armies in heaven are moving and march accordingly. Zechariah 4:6 This is the word of the Lord, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit.”
Deuteronomy 32:28-52 New King James Version (NKJV) 28-31 “For they are a nation void of counsel, Nor is there any understanding in them. Oh, that they were wise, that they understood this, That they would consider their latter end! How could one chase a thousand, And two put ten thousand to flight, Unless their Rock had sold them, And the Lord had surrendered them? For their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves being judges.
1 John 4:4-6
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.
We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
Matthew 10:26 “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
