The watchman’s encounter with God’s reality in the physical realm

On 30th August 2013, while I was listening to the Spirit vs the flesh -the power of the Gospel, I encountered the spectacular shower of golden rays in my kitchen from the spiritual realm which manifested in the physical realm. It was not a vision. Because I used my mobile phone and video recorded the phenomena in visual and sound.

After that I let my house group and my family members watch it and confirmed.

Today I came across the teaching below: “Basics of Righteousness 8 of 8: Spirit vs. Flesh” on YouTube, which is the same as what I have recorded in my CD in 2013 and was listening to when the supernatural encounter happened –Spirit vs the flesh -the power of the Gospel. I would like to share with you this truth which set me and many others on the right track.

If you ask me to use one phrase to describe the most important thing in my life, I will say this without hesitation, “Our God is real and the Bible is real!”

“God will see to it, my son.” He did.

Romans 8-32This morning’s love message is : “God will see to it, my son.” While God will see to it, we need to come to God with a vision, seeing into the unseen by unwavering faith, as led by the Holy Spirit.

(All Scriptures are quoted from NKJV unless otherwise specified)

Indeed, in the classic case of Abraham’s affirmation of his vision of God’s true nature, God saw to it that Abraham and wife did not have to lose their greatest love -their only son, Isaac, born to him and his wife Sarah at their very old age. What did Abraham see when he went to the mountain of vision with his son just as God instructed him to do? He saw the awesome love of God, who provided His own greatest love, the Son of God -Jesus as a substitute for Abraham and Isaac and all mankind!  Jesus became the perfect sacrifice! (Hebrews 10:5-14 “10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”)

God told Abraham to go to the land of Moriah (Hebrew: מוֹרִיָּה‬‬ -“ordained/considered by the LORD”, which is the name given to a mountainous region by the Book of Genesis, in which context it is the location of the intended sacrifice of Isaac. The Vulgate renders the location specified by God for the sacrifice as terram Visionis, traditionally rendered “land of Vision” in Catholic translations.

Genesis 22:2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.

22:8 Abraham said, “The lamb for the entirely burned offering? God will see to it, my son.” The two of them walked on together. (CEB)
God will see to it, my son,” Abraham replied. And they went on. (TLB)
Abraham said, “Son, God will see to it that there’s a sheep for the burnt offering.” And they kept on walking together.(MSG)

22:13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

Hebrews 11:17-19
By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,” 19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

John 8:55-56 (Jesus said)
Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

Where is our land of vision today? Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) We can see by reading His words.

We can also see (know) by the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:17) The Holy Spirit will enables us to see, Jesus said, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:13-15)

What shall we focus on seeing? Like Abraham we only need to focus on seeing God’s great love, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

Awesome! God’s name is LOVE.

Watchman’s rejoices: kol ha’aretz is full of His kavod (the whole earth is full of His glory) (reblog 07/17/17)

The supernatural sign he saw: two light rays of pure gold color streaming down from his white plastered ceiling (perpendicular lines). He could not see the top parts. The golden light rays were sparkling (flashing) and ‘dancing’ or ‘racing’ at quite a speed. When they hit the dark marble top of the kitchen counter, they deflected. There was no rational or natural explanation. He video captured the phenomenon in a mobile phone camera. The golden rainfall went on for about 15 minutes at least…

AAAA watchman

lightThe watchman prayed for revelation of the signs of this time as his spirit has prompted of great changes ahead. For three days he has received messages of words (like puzzle pieces) which pointed to Bible verses, words with Bible chapter clearly, and even a sign followed by Bible verses.

So it had been a fruitful time for the watchman’s own learning to hear the Holy Spirit. Here is a brief summary of the three instances.

  1. On an evening he asked the Lord for words. He wanted to practice hearing correctly in his spirit. So he started receiving words. He quickly jotted down the six words in sequence of his perception: floating, house (?), scrolling, sea, flower, violet (?). Then he spent considerable time looking up the possible meaning. He thought they came in pairs, so he looked up floating house, scrolling sea, and violet flower.

Finally he received the…

11 week 4th day: two prophecies from a sorcerer

spiritual seeingThe two prophecies uttered by a sorcerer, Balaam, who was bent on making money with his special spiritual ability (like soothsaying) tell us something today. My notes are in bold letters and italics. (The Scriptures are quoted from the Holy Bible NKJV Numbers 22:41, 23:5-24, 24:1. Boldness of some verses added to highlight certain revelations received.)

Key verse: For from the top of the rocks I see him,
And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling alone,
Not reckoning itself among the nations.” (Numbers 23:9)

The sorcerer can see into the spiritual realm. He cannot do anything to change the destiny for greatness of a people set apart by God Himself as His own chosen elect people. The sorcerer can see part of it but not the whole picture. Why can’t the sorcerer see all? Because he does not have the Holy Spirit. Because he has his own private commercial agenda. He hopes to make a fortune out of his fortune telling and perhaps successful curses.

But what did he see in these two events recorded? He sees a people set apart by the Holy God for holiness. The key word he sees is: “SEPARATE”. This people is separate from the rest of the inhabitants in the land they have been led by God to conquer and settle. Take note that as long as they remain separate from the rest they will be successful in their conquest. What did the sorcerer see in terms of a military strategy? He struck his spiritual weapon at the word ‘Separate’. He advised the Canaan king to use women to tempt the Israelites. When the Israelite men succumbed to the lust of the flesh and eyes, and had sexual relation with those women (of another spirit), they fell from the spiritually more superior and powerful position of a people of God, and were felled by the people of the land.  A sad revelation which is still true today after thousands of years in mankind’s history and the history of God’s people.

Balaam’s First Prophecy

22:41 So it was, the next day, that Balak took Balaam and brought him up to the high places of Baal, that from there he might observe the extent of the people…

23:5 Then the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, “Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”…And he took up his oracle and said:

“Balak the king of Moab has brought me from Aram,
From the mountains of the east.
‘Come, curse Jacob for me,
And come, denounce Israel!’

How shall I curse whom God has not cursed?
And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?
9 For from the top of the rocks I see him,
And from the hills I behold him;
There! A people dwelling alone,
Not reckoning itself among the nations.

10 “Who can count the dust[a] of Jacob,
Or number one-fourth of Israel?
Let me die the death of the righteous,
And let my end be like his!”

11 Then Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have blessed them bountifully!” 12 So he answered and said, “Must I not take heed to speak what the Lord has put in my mouth?”

Balaam’s Second Prophecy

13 Then Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place from which you may see them; you shall see only the outer part of them, and shall not see them all; curse them for me from there.” …16 Then the Lord met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Go back to Balak, and thus you shall speak.” 17 So he came to him, ..18 Then he took up his oracle and said:

“Rise up, Balak, and hear!
Listen to me, son of Zippor!

19 God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
20 Behold, I have received a command to bless;
He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

21 “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob,
Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel.
The Lord his God is with him,
And the shout of a King is among them.
22 God brings them out of Egypt;
He has strength like a wild ox.

23 For there is no sorcery against Jacob,
Nor any divination against Israel.
It now must be said of Jacob
And of Israel, ‘Oh, what God has done!’
24 Look, a people rises like a lioness,
And lifts itself up like a lion;
It shall not lie down until it devours the prey,
And drinks the blood of the slain.”

24:1 Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go as at other times, to seek to use sorcery,…

Watchman’s adventure: Zechariah 6 and Revelation 6

RevelationToday the watchman was led to read the following verses (both recorded in 6:1-8) on the visions seen by the Prophet Zechariah in Zechariah 6:1-8 and visions seen by the Apostle John in Revelation 6:1-8. The name Zechariah is derived from the Hebrew זְכַרְיָה, meaningThe Lord has remembered.” The meaning of the name John in Hebrew is: “Jehovah has been gracious; has shown favor.”

Summarized watchman’s notes on the similarities and differences between the two authors (Zechariah and John):

1. Both passages are about specific prophetic visions of the spiritual realms.

2. The same Spirit of the Lord has shown a prophet and an apostle visions which have some similarities and some differences.

For example: The colors of the horses: red, white, black are similar in both visions.; the riders (on horses or chariots) are spirits (angels) who are carrying out their assigned works throughout the whole earth.The works may differ in the timing and /or scale, but similar in their theme: judgement and punishment of evil.

3. The experiences of these two men of God are illustrations of how God (through His Spirit)  reveals His plans and their executions (big and small) to individuals according to the concerns in their hearts at the time:

For example: God has revealed to a prophet-priest who was concerned with Israel (his country)’s immediate future in relation with the Gentile nations surrounding it. The two horses (black and white) were sent to deal with the two hostile northern kingdoms (Babylon and Persia). On the other hand, God has also revealed plans and their executions regarding the destiny of the whole mankind to an apostle who has concern for man’s future on earth and in heavens.

4. God calls different individuals in different stages of their lives for His different specific plans and assignments.

For example: Zechariah was a young priest called and sent by God to return to Jerusalem to give the remnants of Israel the messages from God and assured them of God’s good long ranged plan for their nation, so that they are encouraged to rebuild the temple. He faithfully received and passed on the prophecies concerning their religious, social and political predicaments at that time. The record of his visions showed a time span of about five months.

John was one of the twelve apostles Jesus chose. John had been Jesus the risen Savior and Lord, discipled and sent out by Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, carried out his assigned work to faithfully testify for Jesus, and endured the related persecutions. When Jesus chose him to see the visions which he later recorded in the book of Revelation, John had matured into an elderly and well seasoned apostle. His spiritual perspective and worldview were ready for the big revelation from the Lord.

5. In both cases, the two individuals have made themselves available to God. The key word I have noted from their testimonies is: “Faithful”. How did these two men’s lives demonstrate this virtue? Zechariah was martyred between the sanctuary and the altar. (Luke 11:51; Matthew 23:35). John too, went through perilous time under Romans’ persecution and wrote the book of Revelation during his exile on the island Patmos. He was known to have lived till grand old age ( circa AD 6 – c. 108) When John was aged, he trained Polycarp who later became Bishop of Smyrna. This was important because Polycarp was able to carry John’s message to future generations.

Zechariah 6:1-8 New King James Version (NKJV) (boldness added)

Vision of the Four Chariots

6 Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze. With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, with the third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot dappled horses—strong steeds. Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”

And the angel answered and said to me, “These are four spirits of heaven, who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth. The one with the black horses is going to the north country, the white are going after them, and the dappled are going toward the south country.” Then the strong steeds went out, eager to go, that they might walk to and fro throughout the earth. And He said, “Go, walk to and fro throughout the earth.” So they walked to and fro throughout the earth. And He called to me, and spoke to me, saying, “See, those who go toward the north country have given rest to My Spirit in the north country.”

Revelation 6:1-8 New King James Version (NKJV) (boldness added)

First Seal: The Conqueror

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals;[a] and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Second Seal: Conflict on Earth

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.”[b] Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

Third Seal: Scarcity on Earth

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart[c] of wheat for a denarius,[d] and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

Fourth Seal: Widespread Death on Earth

When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

Footnotes:

  1. Revelation 6:1 NU-Text and M-Text read seven seals.
  2. Revelation 6:3 NU-Text and M-Text omit and see.
  3. Revelation 6:6 Greek choinix; that is, approximately one quart
  4. Revelation 6:6 This was approximately one day’s wage for a worker.

(Updated on 7/6/ 2018) Watchman’s adventure 2015-2016: end and begin

numbers 14-24
Caleb has a different spirit-Numbers 14:24

A brief summary of a watchman’s journal of the last few days of 2015 and the beginning of 2016. (Fasted modified combined Esther’s and Daniel’s fast for seven days—12/31/15-1/6/16.)
Updated on 6th July 2018: Please note this is my personal historical journal and not to be used as a theological doctrine or a religious or spiritual ritual to practice. As far as Jesus is concerned He only spoke once on fasting and praying to the disciples to cast out their unbelief when they asked Him why they failed in their one particular practical healing case of ministering to an epileptic boy who was manifesting the symptoms of epilepsy. Their unbelief when they focused on the physical symptoms obstructed the faith of Jesus Christ in them. It was a matter of focus when they carried out their healing ministry. Instead of focusing on the power and authority which Jesus had delegated to them, they focussed on the physical aspects and the ugliness of the manifestations of demons of whatever conditions the boy was suffering. Their wrong focus gave the devil a field day manifesting its perceived power!

WARNING: Do fasting and praying give the disciples more power to deal with demons? NO!!! Don’t ever entertain that. Jesus never said that!!! Because once you think so you are putting your flesh and efforts above everything that Jesus has already accomplished for you!!! Fasting and praying is only for you to read the word of God (the Bible) and stay focused on Him without distractions. In the process you may be able to receive your own personal revelation in His words. Can you do it at home by yourself? Yes. You don’t go to a public place or an assembly to publicize together with a whole lot of people all feeling high and trusting on five senses. Jesus has clearly warned us of the three failed conditions of soils which cannot bear fruit. Getting high (through your senses and emotions) but not having an inner space in your heart for the words to grow deep root is condition number two that fails.

Journey for the people of God. On 2015 12/28 Prompted to read Numbers 33, 34, 35. Theme: stages of journey—leaving and camping, repeatedly many times. finally, moving on according to God’s plan and instructions.

2015/12/31 Habakkuk’s conversation with God. he asked God ‘how long’ and lots of ‘whys’. However he changed his tone to this statement in chapter 3:1 “Lord, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of  Your deeds, Lord. REPEAT THEM IN OUR DAY, IN OUR TIME MAKE THEM KNOWN; IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY.” God then showed the prophet His glory, praise, splendor, and power (3:3).  3:10-17 described the scene of a terrible Tsunami.  3:10 “the mountains saw you and writhed, Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high…15 You trampled the sea with Your horses, churning the great waters…” Zephaniah 1:3 “I will sweep away both man and beast; I will sweep away the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea…” 18 “neither their silver or their gold will be able to save them on the day…”

2016 1/1 Proverbs 29. Theme: State of the nations. “The good, the bad, the ugly.” Key words: ‘snared by their own sins’ —stiff-necked, greedy for bribes, evildoers, mockers, fools, bloodthirsty, rages and scoffs, flatter neighbors and spreading nets and snares, oppressor, undisciplined child, no revelation–cast off restraint, insolent servants unresponsive to corrections, speak in haste, angry person, pride, accomplice of thieves, fear of man. 27 “The righteous detest the dishonest; the wicked detest the upright.”

2016 1/2 Matthew whole chapter 24. Theme: The Day of Jesus’ return will come. 2 “Do you see all these things? Truly I tell you…” 10-14 “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations,  and then the end will come.

2016/1/3 State of the nations continued in Jeremiah 42, 43. Jesus teaches ‘that which defiles’ (. Theme: Be prepared. Watch the mouth which reflects the heart. The battle is in in the words (the Sword of the Spirit). Matthew 15:1-20, 23:25, 38 “Look, your house is left to you desolate.” Mark 7:14-15, 18-22, 23 “All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” Luke 6:45 “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

2016 1/4-6 Jesus teaches by questions and answers (mainly from the book of Luke). Theme: salvation and healing come by believing in Jesus. Know God’s good plan and purpose, and the power of the Living God in His words (Life and Spirit) for each individual believer. “What is written in the Law? How do you read it? You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?” (Luke 10:26, 40, 56) Interpretation of God’s Word by the Holy Spirit and not by man’s ways.

2016 1/7 Numbers 14:29, 34, 38. v29 “Everyone of you twenty years old or more”, v34 “for forty years”. v38 “Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.”

v24 “But because My servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.”

(12-22-15) Watchman’s Christmas dream

Revelation 1-3

This morning I woke at 2:44am from a vivid Christmas end time dream of two parts: the first part shows the end time thief who blatantly comes in to steal, kill and destroy, even by cheating and lying to the face. It happened in a shopping scenario.  The ‘cheaters’ were from within the salesmen of the shop concerned. The second part shows how in the end times the ‘thieves’ (in the form of militant) blatantly distorts the Bible and imposes threat and violent force on those who want to hold fast to The Truth about Jesus. This happened in a ‘Christian’ indoor ‘camp’ or a gathering place. The uniformed ‘law’ enforcer of the ‘camp’ came in to arrest those who refused to wear a t-shirt bearing the distorted proclamation. (Jesus’ warning in John 10:10 about the enemy who came like thieves was enacted in the dream in two modern scenes).

I woke reviewing who we really are as believers of Jesus Christ. What are our real positions? What can we claim for ourselves according to the Bible? I pondered, refreshed my memory, and repeated aloud the following list in my heart before I finally got up from the bed. Here is the list:

I BELIEVE JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD. I HAVE LIFE IN HIS NAME
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” (John 1:12 NKJV) “but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:31 NKJV)
“And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.” (John 1:34 NKJV)

MY REAL LIFE IS IN JESUS, THE SON OF GOD. Jesus lives in me. The Holy Spirit dwells in me. His word abides in me.
I am born of God, the Holy Spirit.  Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:5 NKJV)
Jesus is the Son of God. I live by the faith of Jesus Himself. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 KJV)
My real life is in Jesus Christ (in God). I am in Christ.“For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3 TLB) “And when Christ who is our real life comes back again, you will shine with him and share in all his glories.” (Colossians 3:4 GNT).
Jesus is the vine and I am a branch. I abide in Jesus. (“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 NKJV)
I am the righteousness if God in Christ.“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)

I AM OF GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN ME
God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit live in me.
I do the will of God by believing in Jesus, the Son of God. I belong to the family of God. I am one of the children of God. Jesus said, “Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:35 NIV). “And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
Because I belong to God, I have the Holy Spirit in me and have overcome the spiritual wickedness of the world. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 NKJV)

I HAVE THE LOVE OF GOD IN ME. I AM LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT TO LIVE LIKE JESUS
Because God loves me so He has given me the status of a ‘child of God.’ “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” (1 John 3:1 NKJV).
I am led by the Holy Spirit. I am a child of God. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Romans 8:14 KJV)
As Jesus is, so are we in this world- living like Jesus.“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17 NKJV)
“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.” (1 John 5:10 NKJV) I am born of God.

JESUS CHRIST HAS MADE ME AN OVERCOMER. I CAN LIVE BY FAITH, BELIEVING IN THE WORD OF GOD
Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil. “The one persisting in sin belongs to the diabolical one, who has been all about sin from the beginning. That is why the Son of God came into our world: to destroy the plague of destruction inflicted on the world by the diabolical one.” (1 John 3:8 The Voice)
I overcome the world by faith. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4 NKJV)
I have Jesus as my protection from the evil one. “We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.” (1 John 5:18 NLT)

I CHOOSE TO AND CAN LIVE THE SUPER-ABUNDANT VICTORIOUS (FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN AND DESTRUCTION) LIFE THAT JESUS HAS GIVEN ME, BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN ME
“12 So, my brothers and sisters, you owe the flesh nothing! You do not need to live according to its ways, so abandon its oppressive regime. 13 For if your life is just about satisfying the impulses of your sinful nature, then prepare to die. But if you have invited the Spirit to destroy these selfish desires, you will experience life. 14 If the Spirit of God is leading you, then take comfort in knowing you are His children. 15 You see, you have not received a spirit that returns you to slavery, so you have nothing to fear. The Spirit you have received adopts you and welcomes you into God’s own family. That’s why we call out to Him, “Abba! Father!” as we would address a loving daddy.” (Romans 8:12-15 The Voice)

They are like stars for ever

Daniel 12-3b like stars

Let us read Daniel today, my spirit cries out. What makes Daniel different and worthy as an individual to be so well recorded in heaven and written with such great length in the Bible? What does God say of Daniel? Why is he considered so special and highly respected and honored by even the powerful pagan kings? What is the key success factor word if we have only one sentence or one word to describe him? I shall try to summarize the book of Daniel to answer these questions. Lifestyle is the sum total of who we are inside and our attitude toward life.

The physical Daniel: a noble (royal family) young man taken hostage from Jerusalem in 605 BC to the Babylonian court. He qualified for the pagan king’s requirement: an Israelite from the royal family and nobility-young man without any physical defects, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well-informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. The Babylonian king considered Daniel as a person with insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom, ten times better than his counselors (all the magicians and enchanters) in his whole kingdom. (Daniel was taken hostage probably in his teen, and subsequently lived through the captivity period 605-530 BC in the courts of the Babylonian kings and the Medes and Persian kings respectively.)

The spiritual Daniel: He knew his God. All his actions were persistently and consistently based on this reality of a living God in his personal total life (inside and outside). He described God as “the Lord my God”. He addressed God as: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments.” He knew God as absolutely holy. Therefore he resolved not to defile himself with the spiritually ‘unclean’ (including pagan food, drink, idolatry religious practices and rituals). He knew God as awesome and the only God for him. Therefore he remained calm and composed despite threats of his life. He remained faithful and loyal to his God. He knew God’s spiritual reality. Therefore he could understand visions and dreams of all kind. He could even ask God to reveal mysteries (beyond the human realm) to him, about things to come.

For example: He even knew the details of a dream of the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar and correctly interpret them The king heard and fell on his face and prostrate before Daniel and declared that Daniel’s God is “the God of gods, the Lord of kings.” The queen mother described Daniel to her son King Belshazzar that Daniel was a man “in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. Light and understanding and excellent wisdom were found in him.”

The Daniel as a role model of an overcomer: He knew God. He testified for God. He was not afraid of death because of his testimony and faith in the living God.

What does God say about Daniel? From the conversations and messages the angel (Gabriel) held with Daniel, we know that Daniel was a man greatly beloved of God, and from the first day he set his heart to understand God’s mystery, God heard his words (prayers), replied, granted his requests. God even sent His mighty angel in reply. God also saved and preserved Daniel from harm. Daniel lived to a ripe old age before the living God.

Daniel’s spiritual, godly and prayerful lifestyle was entirely based on his lifelong unwavering belief in the living God and attitude toward God. Indeed, he has the Spirit of the Holy God in him.

The Time of the End

“And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” (Daniel 12:2-3)

Hearing God: words of sorrow and comfort

hannahs-prayerAll about sorrow today. And comforting words for the right kind of sorrow.

2 Corinthians 7:10 [Full Chapter] For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

1 Samuel 1:16 Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.” (Hannah)

IN SORROW: what sorrow awaits for some

Proverbs 23:29

Who has anguish? Who has sorrow? Who is always fighting? Who is always complaining? Who has unnecessary bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?

In Context

What sorrow for you who buy up house after house and field after field, until everyone is evicted and you live alone in the land.

What sorrow for those who get up early in the morning looking for a drink of alcohol and spend long evenings drinking wine to make themselves flaming drunk.

What sorrow for those who drag their sins behind them with ropes made of lies, who drag wickedness behind them like a cart!

What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever.

What sorrow for those who are heroes at drinking wine and boast about all the alcohol they can hold.

What sorrow awaits the unjust judges and those who issue unfair laws.

What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their evil deeds in the dark! “The Lord can’t see us,” they say. “He doesn’t know what’s going on!”

[ Judah’s Worthless Treaty with Egypt ] “What sorrow awaits my rebellious children,” says the Lord. “You make plans that are contrary to mine. You make alliances not directed by my Spirit, thus piling up your sins.

What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

COMFORTING WORDS: for some
He told them to celebrate these days with feasting and gladness and by giving gifts of food to each other and presents to the poor. This would commemorate a time when the Jews gained relief from their enemies, when their sorrow was turned into gladness and their mourning into joy.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.

Isaiah 14:3

In that wonderful day when the Lord gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains,

Isaiah 53:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

He was despised and rejected—
    a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
    He was despised, and we did not care.

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
    it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
    a punishment for his own sins!
But he was pierced for our rebellion,
    crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole.
    He was whipped so we could be healed.

Journey to see God: His face

walk in the light of GodSEEK God’s face. Like Moses the faithful servant of God. Like Stephen, the first martyr -the overcomer, the faithful disciple of Jesus. See Jesus.

The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

For if you return to the Lord, your brethren and your children will be treated with compassion by those who lead them captive, so that they may come back to this land; for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.”

He shall pray to God, and He will delight in him, He shall see His face with joy, For He restores to man His righteousness.

When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can see Him, Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—

For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

And I will wait on the Lord, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

Then they will cry to the Lord, But He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, Because they have been evil in their deeds.

THE GOOD NEWS!
[ Cast Down but Unconquered ] But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

Journey to see God: Now, this Moses. His face shone.

Moses-shining-faceNow, this Moses. His face shone.

And the Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke. So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.

Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. Then he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”

10 And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. 11 Observe what I command you this day.

27 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” 28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.[a]

The Shining Face of Moses

29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. 30 So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 Then Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him; and Moses talked with them. 32 Afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he gave them as commandments all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. 33 And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. 34 But whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with Him, he would take the veil off until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel whatever he had been commanded. 35 And whenever the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone, then Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.

God asks: “what will you do?”

stormyGod asks questions.what will you do?” On  ” the days of reckoning”, when adversities and adversaries engulf “like a flood, when disaster comes” and sweep everything away? For each individual, there will be only a day to make decision. For the group of people as a whole, days (of specific length). There is no option to not answer God’s questions.

What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?
The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?
What will you do on the day of your appointed festivals, on the feast days of the Lord?
The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand. Let Israel know this. Because your sins are so many and your hostility so great, the prophet is considered a fool, the inspired person a maniac.
Hosea 5:9-10 New International Version (NIV)

Ephraim will be laid waste
    on the day of reckoning.
Among the tribes of Israel
    I proclaim what is certain.
10 Judah’s leaders are like those
    who move boundary stones.
I will pour out my wrath on them
    like a flood of water.

Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest snatches him away in the night.

All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me.

After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood.
Judah’s leaders are like those who move boundary stones. I will pour out my wrath on them like a flood of water.
[ A Prophecy Against Babylon ] A prophecy against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the southland, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.
As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.

I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I the Lord have spoken.”

Seek the Lord and live, or he will sweep through the tribes of Joseph like a fire; it will devour them, and Bethel will have no one to quench it.

The cohen hagadol asked, “Are these accusations true?” and Stephen said: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to Avraham avinu in Mesopotamia before he lived in Haran and said to him, ‘Leave your land and your family, and go into the land that I will show you.’

What they said was agreeable to the whole gathering. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Ruach HaKodesh, Philip, Prochoros, Nikanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicholas, who was a proselyte from Antioch.

True Prophet Micah: What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night

Aarons-sons-slainTwo nights ago I was led to read this prophet -Micah when I asked the Lord what to pray and how to pray for this once ‘found’ but now ‘lost’ nation (once ‘seeing’ but now ‘blind’). I read and made notes and prayed. But I was reluctant to post in my blog because my heart was set on posting about God’s love as shown in the book of Malachi, the last Old Testament prophetic book before we cross over to reading the New Testament in preparation for the year end. Last night I was led to read my top posts and was not surprised to see my post on 12-18-2014 “True prophets: Micah one” was climbing the readers’ chart, but I was again too weary in my soul to post Micah. This morning I woke to see this former post has climbed to the top post spot. So here am, posting my notes on Micah. (excerpts from Micah 1-2 )

Notes on Chapter One: God pinpointed the twin culprits, being the center of idolatry – “Samaria, its capital city!” The place of idolatry – “In Jerusalem, the capital!”. The outcome of such spiritual “prostitution” (which was accompanied by physical economic oppression): Children in captivity and exiled; others will set your boundaries then, and the Lord’s people will have no say…”

1 The Lord gave this message to Micah of Moresheth during the years when Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah were kings of Judah. The visions he saw concerned both Samaria and Jerusalem.
Grief over Samaria and Jerusalem
2 Attention! Let all the people of the world listen!
Let the earth and everything in it hear.
The Sovereign Lord is making accusations against you;
the Lord speaks from his holy Temple.
3 Look! The Lord is coming!
He leaves his throne in heaven
and tramples the heights of the earth.
4 The mountains melt beneath his feet
and flow into the valleys
like wax in a fire,
like water pouring down a hill.
5 And why is this happening?
Because of the rebellion of Israel[a]—
yes, the sins of the whole nation.
Who is to blame for Israel’s rebellion?
Samaria, its capital city!
Where is the center of idolatry in Judah?
In Jerusalem, its capital!
6 “So I, the Lord, will make the city of Samaria
a heap of ruins.
Her streets will be plowed up
for planting vineyards.
I will roll the stones of her walls into the valley below,
exposing her foundations.
7 All her carved images will be smashed.
All her sacred treasures will be burned.
These things were bought with the money
earned by her prostitution,
and they will now be carried away
to pay prostitutes elsewhere.”
8 Therefore, I will mourn and lament.
I will walk around barefoot and naked.
I will howl like a jackal
and moan like an owl.
9 For my people’s wound
is too deep to heal.
It has reached into Judah,
even to the gates of Jerusalem.

16 Oh, people of Judah, shave your heads in sorrow,
for the children you love will be snatched away.
Make yourselves as bald as a vulture,
for your little ones will be exiled to distant lands.

Notes on Chapter two: Judgment against Wealthy Oppressors (those in political and economic power and authority): ” In that day your enemies will make fun of you.”

1 What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night,
thinking up evil plans.
You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out,
simply because you have the power to do so.
2 When you want a piece of land,
you find a way to seize it.
When you want someone’s house,
you take it by fraud and violence.
You cheat a man of his property,
stealing his family’s inheritance.
3 But this is what the Lord says:
“I will reward your evil with evil;
you won’t be able to pull your neck out of the noose.
You will no longer walk around proudly,
for it will be a terrible time.”
4 In that day your enemies will make fun of you
by singing this song of despair about you:
“We are finished,
completely ruined!
God has confiscated our land,
taking it from us.
He has given our fields
to those who betrayed us.[n]”
5 Others will set your boundaries then,
and the Lord’s people will have no say
in how the land is divided.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The sad truth:
People continued to reject the True Prophets and welcome False Prophets
6 “Don’t say such things,”
the people respond.[o]
“Don’t prophesy like that.
Such disasters will never come our way!”
7 Should you talk that way, O family of Israel?[p]
Will the Lord’s Spirit have patience with such behavior?
If you would do what is right,
you would find my words comforting.
8 Yet to this very hour
my people rise against me like an enemy!
You steal the shirts right off the backs
of those who trusted you,
making them as ragged as men
returning from battle.
9 You have evicted women from their pleasant homes
and forever stripped their children of all that God would give them.
10 Up! Begone!
This is no longer your land and home,
for you have filled it with sin
and ruined it completely.
11 Suppose a prophet full of lies would say to you,
“I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and alcohol!”
That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!
