A watchman’s conviction, confession, convalescence

Mark 1:35 Jesus, the Son of God, had a busy schedule: traveling from town to town. Teaching in synagogues, healing many sick with various diseases, and casting out many demons from those demon-possessed. (the whole city was gathered at the door!) His fame spread throughout the region. People were amazed at the “new doctrine” He taught and the authority He commanded (even the unclean spirits obeyed Him).

After describing the above Mark went on and recorded the following event(s), the personal life of Jesus.

35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He (Jesus) went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.

Why did Jesus rise up so early and pray in a solitary place? The disciples did not even know and had to look for Him! Why did Jesus not bring them along?

37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”

But He did not answer their implied question, “Don’t you know you have gained great popularity and a large group of followers are down there waiting?! Why are you up here alone? Up here there is nothing to do. Your work i down there with the people ad supporters!”

38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

Jesus had His own focus. He knew His calling and purpose and plan and schedule, do what, where, and how, and what for, and for whom, and to whom…How did He know the details? Through His solitary meeting with His Father in heaven in those very early hours (long before daylight) in prayers.

I quote below some of the stunning statements Jesus revealed to His disciples about the relationship He had with God (His Father in heaven). What He learned from God and what He had to carry out exactly as His Father had instructed. I believe Jesus received all these during all those moments of solitary prayers.

John 5:17-30 New King James Version (NKJV) (Quoted in parts)
17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”
19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, …
30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

What Jesus told His disciples later was even more stunning and apply to all who believe in Jesus. We can know the things of God and do them. How do we receive from God? God is Spirit. We are humans. As Jesus stated below, God sends His Holy Spirit to tell us exactly what God will enable us to do just as what He had shown Jesus and done by Jesus on earth!

John 14 (quoted in parts)
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
26 …the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 16 (quoted in parts)
13 …when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Reading the testimonies of many Spirit-filled people of faith who did signs and wonders just as Jesus did on earth, I realize that they were all led by the Holy Spirit. They could hear and obeyed what the Holy Spirit told them. How did they have such a supernatural ability? The Holy Spirit is Spirit. Well, the following verse tells us how.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Personally I have experienced the closeness and supernatural ability to access the spiritual and supernatural by worships and prayers in tongue and soak myself in the presence of our Lord. I watch and followed the worship and prayer videos of those who have served the Lord for many years, walked in signs and wonders, brought many souls to Christ, and done the work of Jesus and brought forth fruit just as Jesus said. The practitioners of the Holy Spirit led ministry.

God looks for fruit. Jesus taught us to watch the fruit. Prayers should bring forth actions of sowing and planting and fruit bearing. That is how the Kingdom of God has been advancing since Jesus came. This is my personal conviction and what I have witnessed all these years since born again by the Spirit of the Lord and avalanched by the love of God in 1983.

p/s: I took awhile to write this. About two weeks ago I started watching a missionary’s testimonies. I was reminded in my spirit that I needed to review my prayer life. I was led to read the verse from Mark 1:35. I knew it was a confirmation from the Lord that my prayer life was in need of an entire overhaul. So I cleared up a space in my sitting room and started daily worshiping and praying in the spirit with the passion I had some years back. I had to leave my busyness aside with reluctance. This act of faith is worth the efforts. I am reminded of the reality of the verse from Hebrews: 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Indeed, the reward is great. We serve an awesome God!

Today’s prayer: the watchman’s 3 am prayer (august 22, 2016)

prayinghandsI am led to read and pray this prayer again at the dawn of today. There is an urgency for Christian to pray. The appointed time is now. Pray for your loved ones and their future. Pray for your brethren. Pray for nations. Pray for the Kingdom of God. Pray like Abraham, the father of faith! His prayer has come true in history! The outcome is not over yet. You will continue to see the positive results of the covenant God has with those who call on the name of Jesus.

Dear heavenly Father:

Today I read of the faith of Abraham. Abraham mourned and wept for Sarah who died at 127 years old, he went to buy a piece of land so he could give her a proper burial. The owner offered to give it to him free. But he said, “No, listen to me. I will buy it from you. Let me pay the full price for the field so I can bury my dead there.” So Abraham bought the plot of land for use as a permanent burial place.

Prior to this episode, Abraham heard from your angel from heaven regarding his descendants’ future, “This is what the Lord says: because you have obeyed Me and have not withheld even your only son, I swear by My own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed –all because you have obeyed Me.”

Abraham was now a very old man and You have blessed him in every way. Then he sent his oldest servant to go to his homeland to find a wife for his only son (of promise).

Father, I pray You open my eyes to see why this episode about Abraham’s last lap of his faith journey was revealed today?

Please give me spiritual wisdom and insight so that I may grow in my knowledge of You.

I pray that my heart and those of my loved ones (including my brethren in the house church and all who have been led by the Holy Spirit to read this prayer) be flooded with light so that we can understand the confident hope You have given to those You called –Your holy people who are Your rich and glorious inheritance, and the rich and glorious inheritance You have given to Your holy people.

As there are so many hurting and suffering people in this world, Lord, I also pray that we (Your children, the sons and daughters of God) will understand the incredible greatness of Your power for us who believe You, the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of power and honor at Your right hand in the heavenly realms.

Your Son, Christ Jesus, has now all authority in heaven and on earth, including all realms (physical and spiritual). He is now far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else –not only in this world but also in the world to come. He has commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations and teach them to obey all the commands that He has given us. But Lord, look at us, we are not manifesting His authority and power!

The thief has come in to steal, kill, and destroy. Your people are still being imprisoned, oppressed, and destroyed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We are not exercising the authority and power Your Son has promised and indeed given to His disciples.

Lord, once we were dead because of our disobedience and many sins. By Your grace we have been saved. You have raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus, as vine branches united with the vine. Yes, Lord, we believe!

The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus has sent His disciples to go and announce that the Kingdom of Heaven is near, heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Jesus declared clearly that He is the Healer. Power came out from Him. He healed all. The disciples did likewise as Jesus had commanded. Power came out from them and they healed just as Jesus did. As they went everywhere and preached the Good News, Your Spirit worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

Lord, speak through us. Grant us favor from heaven as You have granted Abraham, who walked by faith, believing in the unseen, and not by sight. Open our eyes to see the spiritual heavenly realms just as Abraham had seen. He was walking so close with You that You even called him friend. He was strong in your mighty power. He could see into the spiritual realms. How else can we explain the unquestioning faith and obedience to let go of his self, and unrelenting pursuit to be separate from the rest of the world and its way (devilish wiles), even paying high costs?

Yes, Father, we want to imitate You, in everything we do, because we are Your dear children. We want to live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. We want to live by the power of the Holy Spirit. We want to be strong in You and in Your mighty power, so that we may be able to stand firm against the strategies of the devil. Help us to put on every piece of Your armor and stand our ground.

O, Spirit of Christ, help us in this hour of our weakness. For we do not know what to pray as we ought. Intercede for us with groaning too deep for words. Help us to set our minds, like Abraham did, on the things of the Spirit, walking according to the Spirit, receiving Your life and peace.

Father, we thank you for You have poured Your love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. You called Abraham friend. Jesus had called His disciples friends. And now, we are called Your children. You have given us the Holy Spirit who bears witness with our spirits that we are Your children.

By Your Spirit, we are led as Your children. And we now cry, “Abba, Father!” Thank You, Abba Father, for hearing my prayer.

In Jesus name, I pray.

today’s prayers: More Power Lord

Zechariah 4-6
Zechariah 4:6

Father, for my (and my loved ones’) personal walk with You today I ask for spiritual discernment and understanding. I ask for your Spirit to strengthen our inner man, lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil….

ON this day 12/9/15: This is my fervent prayer for all of us in the nation where I am at, during the fourth watch hours. There are two parts of the prayer. I urge you to please read and pray both for your church and your loved ones. Pray just as Jesus has commanded His closest disciples (Peter, John and James) to do so at the Garden of Gethsemane. (Mark 14:38)

Dear God, our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven: I pray this prayer for all your churches on earth just as the early church (disciples of Jesus) have prayed.

Prophetic Prayer for Boldness for the corporate church (as in the early church in Acts 4:23-31)

“Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David[a] have said: ‘Why did the nations rage,
And the people plot vain things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand,
And the rulers were gathered together
Against the Lord and against His Christ.’

27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

I pray this in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Thank you Father for hearing and answering our prayer.  Amen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My daily personal prayer for self and loved ones. Also for all other Christians. (For the period December 2015 to __________ as led by the Spirit of Jesus Christ).
Father, for my (and my loved ones’) personal walk with You today I ask for spiritual discernment and understanding. I ask for your Spirit to strengthen our inner man, lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil.
At this year-end festive season of blissful oblivion, with undercurrents of wickedness and cruelty, with dark schemes being concocted, brewed,  and ready to be served up to the innocent by Your enemies, in the world where the devil rules and has dominion over mankind, I pray, O Lord, for the wake-up call loud and clear ringing non-stop in our ears so as Your people see the signs of time we know and submit to Your warning and avoid the traps and snares set up by Your enemies. Give us a humble heart, obedience like never before, submitting to You and Your Truth, like Your Son Jesus, the Son of God did in the darkest hour of mankind’s history, walking on earth two thousand years ago.
I admit and repent for myself and my loved ones for hanging on to the pride that often comes before a fall. The pride of presumption that Christians are exempted from the harm that the world causes to one another. The pride of unbelief in the spiritual reality of the things that are happening in the world. The pride of unbelief of Your words. The pride of thinking that we know the Bible so well and all prophetic warnings are outdated, mere cliche and no longer apply in the practical modern civilized and educated world. The pride of believing in the lies that whatever we do in the flesh (loving the world: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life) does not matter at all as we can all safely go to heaven by grace. The pride of quenching the Holy Spirit by insisting on our way and not the way led by the Holy Spirit…The pride of lifting self above You, just as our ancestor, Adam did. I bow down before You, O Lord, repent for all these, for myself, my loved ones and all my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I ask now Lord, my God, my Father in heaven, for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to pour on us, so that we truly know You. The eyes of our heart be enlightened so that we know the glorious hope of our calling, know the greatness of the power You have toward us who believe. The same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
I pray that You grant us, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to You who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
(Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21)
Zechariah 4:6 New King James Version (NKJV)
So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.
Matthew 18 & Psalm 32: Therefore, let all the godly pray
Today we read Matthew 18 and psalm 32 together. why? Read the following two verse together : (Very accurate confirmation of how a terrible situation could happen in the spiritual realm. God’s words are forever settled in heaven. Do not take His words lightly.)
Psalm 32: Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
Matthew 18: But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Matthew 18 (1-10)
Matthew 18:1 About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”
Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
“What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting. So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand or one foot than to be thrown into eternal fire with both of your hands and feet. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
10 “Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.
Psalm 32 A psalm of David.
Oh, what joy for those
    whose disobedience is forgiven,
    whose sin is put out of sight!
Yes, what joy for those
    whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt,
    whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
When I refused to confess my sin,
    my body wasted away,
    and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
    My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Interlude
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
    and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
    And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Interlude
Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time,
    that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.
For you are my hiding place;
    you protect me from trouble.
    You surround me with songs of victory. Interlude
The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
    I will advise you and watch over you.
Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
    that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
10 Many sorrows come to the wicked,
    but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord.
11 So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him!
    Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!
