A watchman’s conviction, confession, convalescence

Mark 1:35 Jesus, the Son of God, had a busy schedule: traveling from town to town. Teaching in synagogues, healing many sick with various diseases, and casting out many demons from those demon-possessed. (the whole city was gathered at the door!) His fame spread throughout the region. People were amazed at the “new doctrine” He taught and the authority He commanded (even the unclean spirits obeyed Him).

After describing the above Mark went on and recorded the following event(s), the personal life of Jesus.

35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He (Jesus) went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him.

Why did Jesus rise up so early and pray in a solitary place? The disciples did not even know and had to look for Him! Why did Jesus not bring them along?

37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”

But He did not answer their implied question, “Don’t you know you have gained great popularity and a large group of followers are down there waiting?! Why are you up here alone? Up here there is nothing to do. Your work i down there with the people ad supporters!”

38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”

Jesus had His own focus. He knew His calling and purpose and plan and schedule, do what, where, and how, and what for, and for whom, and to whom…How did He know the details? Through His solitary meeting with His Father in heaven in those very early hours (long before daylight) in prayers.

I quote below some of the stunning statements Jesus revealed to His disciples about the relationship He had with God (His Father in heaven). What He learned from God and what He had to carry out exactly as His Father had instructed. I believe Jesus received all these during all those moments of solitary prayers.

John 5:17-30 New King James Version (NKJV) (Quoted in parts)
17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”
19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, …
30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

What Jesus told His disciples later was even more stunning and apply to all who believe in Jesus. We can know the things of God and do them. How do we receive from God? God is Spirit. We are humans. As Jesus stated below, God sends His Holy Spirit to tell us exactly what God will enable us to do just as what He had shown Jesus and done by Jesus on earth!

John 14 (quoted in parts)
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
26 …the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 16 (quoted in parts)
13 …when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Reading the testimonies of many Spirit-filled people of faith who did signs and wonders just as Jesus did on earth, I realize that they were all led by the Holy Spirit. They could hear and obeyed what the Holy Spirit told them. How did they have such a supernatural ability? The Holy Spirit is Spirit. Well, the following verse tells us how.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Personally I have experienced the closeness and supernatural ability to access the spiritual and supernatural by worships and prayers in tongue and soak myself in the presence of our Lord. I watch and followed the worship and prayer videos of those who have served the Lord for many years, walked in signs and wonders, brought many souls to Christ, and done the work of Jesus and brought forth fruit just as Jesus said. The practitioners of the Holy Spirit led ministry.

God looks for fruit. Jesus taught us to watch the fruit. Prayers should bring forth actions of sowing and planting and fruit bearing. That is how the Kingdom of God has been advancing since Jesus came. This is my personal conviction and what I have witnessed all these years since born again by the Spirit of the Lord and avalanched by the love of God in 1983.

p/s: I took awhile to write this. About two weeks ago I started watching a missionary’s testimonies. I was reminded in my spirit that I needed to review my prayer life. I was led to read the verse from Mark 1:35. I knew it was a confirmation from the Lord that my prayer life was in need of an entire overhaul. So I cleared up a space in my sitting room and started daily worshiping and praying in the spirit with the passion I had some years back. I had to leave my busyness aside with reluctance. This act of faith is worth the efforts. I am reminded of the reality of the verse from Hebrews: 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Indeed, the reward is great. We serve an awesome God!

a watchman’s random rambling account of direction and ministry: Behold the greatness of God!

1 corinthians 14:1This watchman has been asking and seeking the Lord about currently relevant ministry and direction in the last five years after obeying the call to be scattered, move out and go north. The verses received included what God told Moses to move out and what Solomon advised to sow on many waters for harvests.

The changes were drastic and fast-paced after launching out by faith. After returning from a series of travel and living in the poorest and richest nations in the world, there began a time of writing, translating, and word-processing in different languages. There was a need to learn to upgrade the use IT of and internet amenities. There was a need to use the latest social and multi-media and word processing tools.

Lately there started a time to revise and apply educational knowledge stored in the mind as well as the spirit for “inner healing” or rather mind/thought pattern counseling to deconstruct chronic “malignant” (malfunction) behavioral pattern that had resulted adversed physical and mental effects, and to input and construct fresh thought and behavioral pattern to align with the original perfect design (that includes divine health and wellness functioning) of the Creator. This latest assignment is the most difficult as human innate stubbornness appears to obstruct every effort to align with the Lord’s purpose. The motto the watchman has been reminded repeatedly is: “Exercise patience and endurance in the love of God” when carrying out such healing assignments. The Lord’s love which is indeed the power behind our service must compel and motivate any ministry action, and the healing way is through faith under His grace.

Lately there has been a wave of revelation of the supernatural direction and increase that the lord has been working on and enabling throughout the globe: the raising up of a generation of young people who love the Lord. They have encountered Jesus Christ, are walking by the Spirit, being discipled on the solid rock of the Word of God, set their hearts after the Lord’s heart, and are passionate for the lost, the poor and the young. Their hearts are fixed and focused on the Lord and His goodness. The generation of revivalists in the former century has left behind a spiritual revival legacy and today we can see the evidence and fruit all over the world in many continents. The signs and wonders of the Holy Spirit moving today confirming the witnessing for Jesus and His words being preached as in the book of Acts are undeniable and real to even the hardest and unbelieving hearts. There are: the love for the Spirit, radical abandonment, and evangelism.

The sharing of this random rambling is to encourage and exhort perhaps a few lone watchmen out there who may be presently seeking the Lord’s fresh direction to venture out and look at the magnificent view beyond the present mountain top. Yes, many years ago the Lord (through another watchman) had urged this watchman to leave a comfort zone and venture out where the greatness of God is being beheld by “eyes that see, ears that hear, and hearts that understand.” The prayers of Paul (and this watchman praying Paul’s prayers) in his letter to the Ephesians (chapters 1 & 3) had been answered.

Here are some of the quotes that I find very relevant and refreshing reminders today:
God is not about using the mighty but the willing. He is not into using amazing people, just ones who prepared to lay their lives down to him. God is not looking for extraordinary, exceptionally gifted people, just laid down lovers of Jesus who will carry his glory with transparency and not take it for themselves. Heidi Baker

Yes, God wants you to do signs and wonders. But the love of God manifested through you is what people really need. So you first must see His face. You must become so close to His very heartbeat that you can feel what others feel. Heidi Baker

Every revival in history seems to be the result of a few people becoming so hungry for God that they wanted Him more than oxygen. Those who have such hunger will not be denied. It’s time to seek a revival that becomes the most famous address in the world. It’s time to seek a move of God that won’t quit moving. Rick Joyner

Ephesians 4:11-13 New Living Translation (NLT)
11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Watchman’s rejoices: kol ha’aretz is full of His kavod (the whole earth is full of His glory) (reblog 07/17/17)

The supernatural sign he saw: two light rays of pure gold color streaming down from his white plastered ceiling (perpendicular lines). He could not see the top parts. The golden light rays were sparkling (flashing) and ‘dancing’ or ‘racing’ at quite a speed. When they hit the dark marble top of the kitchen counter, they deflected. There was no rational or natural explanation. He video captured the phenomenon in a mobile phone camera. The golden rainfall went on for about 15 minutes at least…

AAAJ watchman

lightThe watchman prayed for revelation of the signs of this time as his spirit has prompted of great changes ahead. For three days he has received messages of words (like puzzle pieces) which pointed to Bible verses, words with Bible chapter clearly, and even a sign followed by Bible verses.

So it had been a fruitful time for the watchman’s own learning to hear the Holy Spirit. Here is a brief summary of the three instances.

  1. On an evening he asked the Lord for words. He wanted to practice hearing correctly in his spirit. So he started receiving words. He quickly jotted down the six words in sequence of his perception: floating, house (?), scrolling, sea, flower, violet (?). Then he spent considerable time looking up the possible meaning. He thought they came in pairs, so he looked up floating house, scrolling sea, and violet flower.

Finally he received the…

watchman/intercessor update (03202017)

Matthew 26:56Today I note that nine out of ten of the top posts in this blog are about watchman/intercessor. Someone is reading this topic at this kairos time in season. The related blogs were written during 2009-2013. I am led now to give an update to the watchman/intercessor(s) who have visited and perhaps are still reading some of my previous articles on this subject. I would simplify mattes using Q and A mode as follows: (This is not an exhaustive list.)

Q: are those articles still valid today?
A: read with prayers. I suggest you pray in tongue. Ask the Holy Spirit.

Q: as I am still new to hearing the Holy Spirit, which aspects of the articles shall I ask for discernment and perhaps discard?
A: everything that demands a legalistic adherence to the Laws of Moses.

Q: please give me a general guidance when reading the articles.
A: pray in tongue. Open your Bible. Read the Bible as you find verses that speak to you in the articles. Do not take things for granted. Ask the Lord.

Q: if some of the articles are outdated, why are you still keeping them?
A: they are not outdated. They were reflections of a series of Kairos time which our watchman has gone through at different periods. We keep them as a mirror. Someone may be going through similar growing up phases. The testimonies show how things in the spiritual can be overcome.

Q: what shall I be aware of or beware of?
A: Legalistic religious ritualistic practices that are formulated according to dead letters.

Q: WHY?
A: BECAUSE JESUS CLEARLY SPOKE AGAINST THEM.

Q: what are the dangers of dealing with the spiritual realm?
A: the clear danger is unless you know our God personally and have a relationship with Him, you can be snared and deceived by the father of all lies, the devil. Jesus has warned His disciples of false teachers, false prophets, false Christ-these are people used by the anti-Christ to snare Christians into spiritual falsehood.

Q: how do I keep away from spiritual falsehood?
A: keep close to God, the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. Abide in him. Let His words abide in you. Being spiritual does not mean you can do all the rituals (faith in action). Your character shows your true spiritual condition. Are you manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit or the fruit of the devil as clearly described in Galatians 5:16-26. Examine your secret agenda. What motivates you? Are you really seeking to glorify God or yourself? Have you died to self? There is no point talking and not manifesting the right fruit.

Q: will people know whether i am led by the Holy Spirit or the evil spirit?
A: YES. YOUR FRUIT SHOWS. JESUS SAID, A GOOD TREE PRODUCES GOOD FRUIT. PEOPLE SEE FRUIT.

Q: what is the number one snare i need to avoid?
A: taking offense. Jesus warned, “And then many will be offended, will betray one anther, and will hate one another.” (Continue to read the whole passage that starts with taking offense and the consequences thereof in Matthew 24:10-13)

Q: if i just stay away from people and keep to myself will i make an effective watchman/intercessor? how do i know what is going on?
A: watchman/intercessor sees into the spiritual realm behind the physical realm. The Holy Spirit alerts you to read or hear or see the physical events when needed and tells you about the spiritual implication. You are not required to be a hermit. Neither are you required to be a know-all. As Jesus spoke of His disciples, they are in the world but not of the world. We are in the world but we do not love the world or its things. We use things but we love people. The world loves things and use people. This is the difference.

Q: is a watchman a seer? how will i be upgraded to a seer?
A: in the Old testament time the Holy Spirit came and went. The Holy Spirit worked through individuals who were called and responded as prophets/messengers of God. Some were intercessors for the people of Israel. People (including kings) came to them for counsels and guidance because the seers could hear the Holy Spirit. Most people were drawn to the seers because they were forecasters of future events. Do we need seers today? Every believer who is born of the Holy Spirit should be able to hear the Holy Spirit, because Jesus promised the disciples that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and tell us things to come. Of course a watchman/intercessor who can always hear the Lord correctly and have the gift of the word of knowledge and word of wisdom is sometimes treated with honor as a seer. This role involves using the gifts that the Lord has endowed on the individual.

Q: can the seer use the aforementioned gifts to benefit himself or his family?
A: yes if it is what the Lord asks him to do, such as to avoid a personal danger, to make a right personal decision in investment, to help someone close out of a potentially disastrous situation etc. There are many New Testament verses on how God wants to bless every believer (not just a seer) according to the abundant life Jesus has given. God wants every believer to hear Him and have a relationship with Him. But the word of caution here is never use your gift to help someone who clearly goes against the words of God (the Bible). Never go against God’s words. We serve a holy God.

Q: can a seer make a worldly fortune out of his spiritual gifts?
A: i would be extremely cautious here if i were you. God clearly warns against fortune telling etc. Beware of getting snared into this number one temptation from the devil. Remember what Jesus and the apostles had warned us of. The greed for money is idolatry. The love of money is a snare. Sorcerers and idolators shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Revelations 21:8)

Q: how will a seer make a living?
A: just like any other honest hard working Christian does. He or she may have an employment elsewhere, may be a pastor, a teacher, a missionary, an evangelist, a writer, a helper, a full-time church worker, a housewife etc. He will be paid just like any other worker according to his job.

Q: is there a most suitable profession and age for a watchman/seer?
A: personally speaking, ideally a job without fixed schedule/time paradigm. A retiree or someone who has made it in the financial world and no longer needs to earn his bread and butter. Someone who cannot be bought by the world. The Lord always ensures that such an individual is well provided and protected.

Q: surely everybody wants more of the good stuff. is there such a person who cannot be bought?
A: well, my son/daughter, when you reach a spiritual point of your relationship with God, you cease to exist. Nothing in the world really matters. You died to the world. You only live to God. This is the true calling of a seer.

Q: what is your one sentence advice as a prerequisite for a watchman/intercessor/seer?
A: God makes sure the words of the true prophets are fulfilled.

End Times Church Countdown: Lift up the Sword of the Spirit now

Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God
The end times message since last August was: “LIFT up the Sword of the Spirit”. Indeed this has proved the final piece of the armor of God for all Spirit-filled Christians. No church can afford to hide behind the facade of any excuses of activities any longer. There is no enough time if you have not already come back to this first love, the word of God.

Small groups of individuals, most of whom are watchmen and intercessor who obey the Lord Jesus’ command to ‘watch and pray’, have already received this call and started to group together and read the word of God regardless what other programs in which their respective churches are still preoccupied.

How else do churches expect to live the Son of God’s life despite the ravages of the four horsemen in Revelation 6?
Here is the Bible passage if you cannot recall the Revelation 6.

Revelation 6

New King James Version (NKJV)

First Seal: The Conqueror

6 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Second Seal: Conflict on Earth

When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

Third Seal: Scarcity on Earth

When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

Fourth Seal: Widespread Death on Earth

When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

Sixth Seal: Cosmic Disturbances

12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
