Use the Sword of the Spirit chapter two: foundation building

Sword of the Spirit: believe, birth, blood

Revision of yesterday’s word: God loves all and has made provision for all to be saved. Today’s words: Believe, birth, blood. Serious interrelated key words from the Bible. At the end of this post I will post two haiku written on the words received yesterday and today.

Believe. This is the first word for today. It is an entry word for a Christian. It is possible to join something without believing in it in the physical realm, but not so in the spiritual realm. Christianity is a spiritual realm.

Believing in Jesus is the entrance ticket or a switch to God’s realm. It leads you to the next automatic step, which is the word “birth”, being “born again” by the Spirit of God. Only by being born of the Holy Spirit, we can see and enter the realm of God (John 3:3, 5). ..

Use the Sword of the Spirit chapter one: Effective for ALL

Sword of the Spirit new series to counter the year of ridicule

All had been through together. No exception. The year of ridicule. What are the words for the remains of the days in 2021? For those who have sailed above the uncharted water, or are still sailing through it, let us plunge into the Bible treasure chest and pick up some word gems to shape and guide as our spiritual compass, and continue to brave the journey ahead. Let us be led by the Holy Spirit, in identifying His words in alphabetical order, during the last 20 days of this year 2021…Use the Sword! (Please read on in my Sound Mind blog. This is an entirely new series continuing what I left off in September 2017)

The A word is ALL. When pondering on how to start with the alphabet A, I realize we do have a lot of words to choose from. But when I started typing this journal note, the phrase “the word is ALL” comes into my mind without hesitation. How appropriate! All have been through together the year of ridicule. No exception.

Admittedly this is a crucial word today…

daily words: narrow, cost, new, endure, harvest

These are the swords of the Spirit received today for Bible believers.

KEY WORD: NARROW (despite the unpopularity of our decisions and actions which actually matter life and death)

Matthew 7:13-14 The Narrow Gate 13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell[a] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. 14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

Footnotes: 7:13 Greek The road that leads to destruction.

KEY WORD: COST (of listening to the Holy Spirit -obeying and following despite the world choosing to follow the crowd)

Matthew 8:22 22 But Jesus told him, “Follow me now. Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead.[a]”

Footnotes: 8:22 Greek Let the dead bury their own dead.

KEY WORD: NEW (including a new way of relationship with God and the new lifestyle which aligns with our belief and relationship with God, Whom we call Abba, Father)

Matthew 9:17 17 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins. New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.”

KEY WORD: ENDURE (with the end in mind, knowing the triumphant ending is on our side and is written in the Book of Life!)

Matthew 10:21-22 21 “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. 22 And all nations will hate you because you are my followers.[a] But everyone who endures to the end will be saved.

Footnotes: 10:22 Greek on account of my name.

KEY WORD: HARVEST (Yes, there is a reward time for every seed we sow and have been sowing throughout our lives. Meanwhile we do the harvesting for the Lord!)

Matthew 9:37-38 37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

How the war is won: He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. (expanded 2021-05-11)

God is our Trainer! He never stops working! A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

2021-05-11 Still Very relevant today since I first posted this blog on 2016-11-28. It was a very significant moment then. It is more so today. God is a Trainer. He has never stopped working.

God is my Trainer in Psalm 144:1,13

Praise the Lord, who is my rock.
He trains my hands for war
and gives my fingers skill for battle.
2
He is my loving ally and my fortress,
my tower of safety, my rescuer.
He is my shield, and I take refuge in him.
He makes the nations[a] submit to me.

3
O Lord, what are human beings that you should notice them,
mere mortals that you should think about them?
4
For they are like a breath of air;
their days are like a passing shadow.

5
Open the heavens, Lord, and come down.
Touch the mountains so they billow smoke.
6
Hurl your lightning bolts and…

Christian prayers in God’s words: sword of the Spirit

Today we continue to pray the powerful way the saints prayed in the early churches. Who are the saints? They are Christians. Reading the book of Acts, and the Epistles will confirm this. We are the saints.

The power of the prayers of Christians: lasting impact in the heavenly realm and are parts of the end time solutions by God!

Revelation 5:7-9 (NKJV)

Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

Worthy Is the Lamb

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying:

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

Revelation 8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Seventh Seal: Prelude to the Seven Trumpets

When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

What are the prayers and how to pray? The powerful effect of our prayers!

1 Peter 3:7[ A Word to Husbands ] Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

1 John 5:14  Confidence and Compassion in Prayer ] Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
